CES partners with districts to support innovative talent pipeline programs. We spend time getting to know district leaders and educators to customize unique programs to best meet the district's needs.

New Teacher Institute
In collaboration with our district partners, the New Teacher Institute offers training with follow-up support in the field to equip new teachers with the tools, skills, and resources to be effective teachers. The program builds teachers’ skills and capacity to build powerful relationships, create a culture of achievement, and deliver high-quality instruction.

Teacher Certification Program
Harris County Department of Education provides the highest quality instruction and support for educators enrolled in our teacher alternative certification program through district partnerships.
Coursework sessions are conducted in classroom and blended settings with instructors who are content and pedagogy experts. Teacher candidates are observing practicing classroom teachers in partnership schools before their paid internship begins. -
New Principal Institute
In collaboration with district partners, the New Principal Institute is committed to developing and supporting new principals who foster a positive culture, execute change management, and lead through other adults to impact student outcomes.

Principal Certification
Our state-approved educator preparation program provides comprehensive, high-quality, learner-centered leadership preparation for aspiring administrators to become effective school leaders. The academy curriculum is fully aligned with the Texas standards, domains, and competencies for principal certification and focuses on the essential skill sets necessary to successfully lead high-performing schools.

Instructional Coaching Institute
In collaboration with district partners, the Instructional Coaching Institute is committed to developing and supporting instructional leaders who respond to data and make pivots quickly to close gaps, effectively diagnose and coach teachers on the most pressing problem, and create and implement data-driven action plans.
Who We Are

Harris County Department of Education's Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) and Educator Certification and Advancement (ECA) have merged to become the Center for Educator Success (CES) in an effort to partner with school districts and provide customized services to better meet the needs of all educators.
What We Do

CES was developed and designed to transform educator talent pipelines by partnering directly with districts to reimagine a comprehensive approach to educator recruitment, growth, advancement and leadership with the primary goal to inspire a new generation of educators to teach and lead in ways that generate real results and new opportunities for all children.
All programming provided by CES is 100% focused on developing quality educators.
